The Leddie, a boutique hotel and restaurant in the village of Aberlady, has been finding new ways to make the most of its setting on the East Lothian coast.

The hotel hosted its first wellness retreat, Spring Equinox Awakening, in partnership with WanderWomen. The overnight event began with guests setting intentions before a mindful, meditative walk through Aberlady Bird Reserve, led by WanderWomen facilitator Anna. Guests walked in silence, with mindful pauses and breathwork along the way.

The walk ended with a beach gathering and fireside reflection, warm drinks and seasonal rituals, and those who felt up to it could take a dip in the North Sea. The evening finished with a cosy dinner back at The Leddie. The next morning began with a slow breakfast, followed by a gentle walk to the neighbouring woodland of the Gosford Estate for a guided forest bathing session, designed to help guests feel grounded and connected with nature.

The Leddie has also built a programme of creative evenings that celebrate local talent. Around Valentine's Day it hosted a sell-out Paint and Sip night with The Drift Candle Company, where guests painted their own candles over a glass of Champagne, and its first Pink, Wine and Pamper night with skincare brand The Face Planner.

The hotel describes itself as an award-winning four-star hotel and restaurant, with an emphasis on a warm welcome, a perfect pour and a fabulous plate of food. Its kitchen serves culinary classics made with local ingredients, and its rooms are designed for restful nights.

Aberlady sits beside its bird reserve and close to a wide choice of golf courses, and the hotel encourages guests to explore the landscape and history on its doorstep. For visitors from Edinburgh, it is an easy trip along the coast for a meal or a short break.

With its retreats and events tied closely to the places around it, The Leddie offers a slower, more local way to enjoy a weekend away.

Rooms, tables and upcoming events can be booked on The Leddie website.
