Grange Cricket Club in Stockbridge celebrates a first women's Premier League 30 title

It has been a historic season at Grange Cricket Club. The club's women's team has been crowned Premier League 30 champions for the first time, a result head coach Sharez Omer Khan sees as testament to the club's focus on developing young players.
Grange won 11 of their 12 games. Co-captain and wicket-keeper Beatrice Lusty led from the front with 317 runs, while opener Clare Levings scored 264 runs from six matches, including two half centuries and a century. Cecilia Beddison added 160 runs. The wickets were shared between pace bowlers Chloe Milburn, the other co-captain, Bareera Gul and Aishwarya Chaudhary, and spinners Aditi Patwari and Clare Levings.
Sharez said he was delighted for all the players, who became part of history as the first Grange team to win the competition. He said some players had come through the club's pathways and combined well with senior players who mentored the younger ones, creating a special culture, and that there was much more to come.
The club only recently re-established its women's team and is keen to welcome new female members, whether they want to develop their skills or play competitively.
There has been success at the top level too. Three Grange players, Jack Jarvis, Finlay McCreath and Jasper Davidson, have been named in a Scotland squad for the Hong Kong Sixes from 30 October to 1 November. Scotland will face Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in their group, and Cricket Scotland's head of performance Steve Snell described the event as a fantastic opportunity for players to test themselves in a unique format.
Founded in 1832, Grange is one of Scotland's leading cricket clubs. Its ground in Stockbridge regularly hosts Scotland's international matches, and the club runs four weekend league sides, having reinstated its fourth XI in 2025 thanks to growing membership. It also has a large junior section.
The club is now looking for new members of all ages and standards for 2027, whether they want to play or to put something back into the game.
